Job summary

Pro Insurance currently invites applications for a Claims Technician to join our Complex Claims Team, supporting an existing client with a caseload of asbestos-related disease and other respiratory claims. The role requires liaison with solicitors, brokers and internal teams, maintaining robust records and contributing to business objectives.

Based in the UK with hybrid flexibility, occasional travel to EL/PL claims hubs and other locations may be required to support claims progression and

Qualifications

• Experience handling EL/PL disease claims, including mesothelioma and asbestos-related diseases.
• Strong communication with solicitors, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting asbestos-related disease claims.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of asbestos-related disease and other respiratory claims.
• Manage diaries and post within agreed SLAs.
• Liaise with solicitors and brokers to progress claims.
• Develop relationships internally and externally.
• Maintain accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes.
• Identify potential fraud and support team objectives.
• Provide technical advice to external clients.
• Oversee PLF for litigated claims to ensure proper strategy.
• Contribute to sub-vertical projects.
• Represent Pro in a professional manner.

Pro Insurance currently has a new opportunity for a Claims Technician to join our Complex Claims Team, processing claims in supporting an existing client.

Pro currently has UK office locations in London, Glasgow, Gloucester, Horsham and Liverpool and operates a flexible hybrid policy, the majority of this role will be working on a remote basis but will be required to travel to one of our EL/PL claims hub and other locations when required.

Purpose of Role & Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Technician will handle a caseload of asbestos-related disease and other respiratory claims, to include the following:-
• Mesothelioma
• Diffuse Pleural Thickening
• Other respiratory claims
• Managing all diaries and post within the agreed SLAs
• Liaising with solicitors and brokers
• Developing effective business relationships internally and externally
• Maintain accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes
• Identifying potential fraud
• Proactively support the team in their achievements and overall business objectives
• Provide technical advice and guidance to external clients
• Oversight of PLF in respect of any litigated claims to ensure the case strategy is appropriate
• Contribute to projects relevant to the sub vertical
• Strengthen Client Relationships
• Represent Pro in a Professional manner to both peer and potential marketplace acquaintances

Skills and Experience

• Good background in EL/PL disease claims including: Lung Cancer, Mesothelioma, and other asbestos-related claims.
• Ability to work towards Service Level Agreements.
• Effective communication and key stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of claims handling and impacting legislation in respect of asbestos-related disease claims.
• Claims Handling Authority/Licence appropriate to the work type.
• Adaptable to change.
• Strong relationship building skills and a professional and approachable manner.
