Job summary

RPC Bristol is seeking a proactive Claims Handler to join our Claims Handling Department, delivering technical and efficient claim handling for professional indemnity insurers. You will manage a caseload, review cover, respond to claims, and report to insurers as needed.

Based in Bristol with occasional travel to our London office, you will build strong relationships with insureds, intermediaries and suppliers, adhere to SLA and KPI standards, and contribute to data accuracy and monthly

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in claims including technical knowledge and experience.
• Ability to build internal relationships and understand the firm’s expertise to deliver excellent client service.
• Commercial, proactive approach with timely responses to meet clients' needs and deadlines.
• Able to interact with clients, intermediaries and suppliers to build collaborative relationships based on trust.

Responsibilities

• Assist insureds to respond to complaints and claims, investigating where appropriate.
• Negotiate settlements within delegated authority.
• Understand and adhere to team SLAs and KPIs.
• Ensure insurer requirements and KPI targets are met.
• Proactively manage caseload to avoid unnecessary litigation and ensure efficient resolution.
• Maintain data accuracy and integrity on the electronic case management system.
