Job Title: Claims Handler - Liability
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Stratford, London or Trafford, Manchester
Working Pattern: Agile / Hybrid (1-2 days in the office, 3-4 days working from home)
Salary: £32,188 (plus London weighing if you are based in London)

About the Role
Our client is currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their specialist in-house Risk & Insurance Team as a Liability Claims Handler.
This role is perfect for candidates with experience in handling public liability claims - whether in the insurance industry, legal field, or a related setting. It would also suit a legal executive or similar professional looking to utilise their expertise in a dynamic, high-performing environment.
As part of a sector-leading team, you'll play a key role in enhancing in-house claims handling capabilities and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Investigate liability on individual cases

  • Establish and manage claim reserves

  • Assess and negotiate claims to resolution
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and best practices



What We're Looking For


  • Strong understanding of legal liability and relevant legislation

  • Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation process

  • Ability to interpret insurance policy information effectively

  • Skilled in investigation, evaluation, and negotiation

  • Experience managing liability claims (public liability preferred)

  • Proficient in case management systems and diary scheduling

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service and teamwork abilities
  • Results-focused with a proactive approach
