About the role:

As part of the Munich Re Claims community, you will help implement the Future Global Claims setup and advance the Munich Re Claims Ambition 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and settle Professional Indemnity and Liability Claims
  • Investigate and negotiate claims as required
  • Influence the handling and settlement of claims on both direct and reinsurance portfolios
  • Check case reserves and ensure adequate provisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers, cedants, and clients
  • Conduct client visits, audits, and due diligence
  • Identify and report legal, political, and market developments
  • Provide feedback to underwriters from a claims perspective
  • Establish reputation as technical experts on casualty claims
  • Support the Deputy Claims Manager and Senior Claims Management
  • Provide technical and operational support
  • Coordinate with Munich Re on reinsurance claims issues
  • Update on material developments to Claims Management

Key Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Claims experience in Professional Indemnity
  • Knowledge of Liability claims is an advantage
  • Ability to analyze and set reserves
  • Manage a caseload independently

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance
  • Knowledge of the ECF system

General Duties and Tasks

  • Handle claims according to authorities and procedures
  • Use market and internal systems for claims processing
  • Support clients with high-value or contentious claims
  • Investigate and negotiate claim settlements
  • Oversee primary insurance partners
  • Conduct client meetings for large or contentious cases
  • Assess and calculate reserves
  • Attend legal proceedings and communicate the company's views
  • Participate in audits and due diligence
  • Provide claims feedback to underwriters
  • Represent the company at market meetings
  • Collaborate with claims colleagues to meet targets

Regulatory & Conduct Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with Insurance Distribution Directive
  • Ensure compliance with Munich Re's Code of Conduct and FCA Conduct Rules
