Job summary

QBE in Leeds is seeking a Claims Adjuster – Liability Credit Hire to examine, evaluate and process claims in line with policy terms. This hybrid role involves investigation, coverage assessment and negotiations to settle claims effectively.

You will manage a busy claims portfolio, maintain timely responses, and ensure adherence to ABI GTA timings. Excellent investigative and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience handling Credit Hire claims at all levels.
• Strong investigative skills with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to interpret policy coverage and liability terms.
• Experience negotiating liability and dealing with litigation processes.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve Claims where Liability is disputed involving Credit Hire to minimise leakage.
• Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure liability aligns with contractual commitments.
• Identify subrogation, contribution and recovery opportunities and pursue where appropriate.
• Manage Claims and material issues to resolve and settle claims economically.
• Ensure Claims fees and advices respond within agreed timeframes for good service.

Your new role:

• Investigate and resolve Claims where Liability is disputed involving Credit Hire in order to provide excellent Claims handling service with minimal leakage
• Identify and investigate coverage issues so as to ensure that the company’s liability is in line with its contractual commitments
• Identify subrogation, contribution and other recovery issues and ensure that these are successfully pursued where appropriate
• Manage Claims and other material Claims issues in order to resolve and settle claims on an economic basis
• Ensure that Claims fees and advices are responded to within agreed timeframes to ensure good service
• Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards
• Flag complaints as required and Treat Customers Fairly
• Maintain knowledge of the Claims Portfolio and provide information to others on request to ensure the effective monitoring of Claims to support Underwriting and Claims decisions
• Reserve accurately to ensure that the Company’s liability is clear at all times
• Maintain efficient handling of their own caseload to ensure the prompt, timely and effective handling of Claims
• Have a complete understanding of the ABI GTA agreement and be able to deal with claims within the contracted timescales
• Being able to deal with Non-GTA Credit Hire claims and understand the arguments and documentation that can be used to obtain a satisfactory outcome

About you:

• Experience dealing with Credit Hire claims at all levels
• Excellent investigative skills
• Proven experience dealing with policy coverage
• Experience dealing with liability negotiations
• Have a good understanding of a litigation process
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal
• Relationship Management skills
• Able to competently use MS office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
