Job summary

Teamforce Labour are seeking an experienced Civils Foreman for a long-term position in Derby.

The candidate will supervise civils and groundworks, manage operatives and subcontractors, and ensure works meet drawings, specs and safety standards on a busy site. Strong leadership and SMSTS/SSSTS are essential, with a proven track record in drainage, ducting and concrete works.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Civils Foreman.
• Strong civil engineering and groundworks background.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
• CSCS/CPCS qualification relevant to the role.
• Good understanding of site health and safety requirements.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to organise and manage site teams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating civils and groundworks activities on site.
• Managing operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Overseeing drainage, ducting, concrete works, excavations and general groundworks.
• Planning and allocating daily workloads.
• Monitoring progress against the programme and reporting to Site Management.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Conducting daily briefings and toolbox talks where required.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and site housekeeping.
• Coordinating plant, labour and materials to maintain productivity.
• Identifying and resolving site issues to prevent delays.
• Ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the works.
