Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is expanding its Civil & Structural Engineering team within the Energy Transmission & Distribution sector. We welcome engineers at all levels, from Graduate to Associate Director, to work on the UK’s significant electricity infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, lead design delivery, engage with clients, and mentor early-career engineers while driving technical excellence and innovation in the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Strong understanding of civil and/or structural engineering principles.
• Experience in Energy, Power, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Commitment to engineering excellence, quality and Safety in Design.
• For Principal/Associate levels: Chartered status or progression toward it.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil and structural design services across major Energy T&D projects.
• Design reinforced concrete foundations, structural steelwork, buildings and drainage.
• Support or lead design of substations and HVDC converter stations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and reviews.
• Produce calculations, reports, specifications and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and safety in design.
