Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is expanding its Civil & Structural Engineering team within the Energy Transmission & Distribution sector. The role covers delivery from feasibility to construction support on UK infrastructure projects, with increasing responsibility for design leadership and client engagement.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams, progressing from engineer levels toward leadership roles, while mentoring graduates and contributing to innovation and digital delivery across

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, IStructE or actively progressing towards chartership.
• Experience delivering civil/structural design for energy infrastructure.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to engineering excellence, quality and Safety in Design.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil and structural design services across major Energy T&D projects.
• Design reinforced concrete foundations, structural steelwork and buildings.
• Support or lead design of substations, HVDC converter stations and associated power infra.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and review technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards; contribute to project planning and risk management.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers and contribute to business development.
