Job summary

Farrans is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the Civil Engineering Pre-Contract team. You will develop winning cost proposals for major UK and Ireland projects, prepare detailed estimates, and support high-quality tender submissions.

You will collaborate with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners in a fast-paced environment. Joining a team of bid managers and estimators, you’ll manage bids typically ranging to £50m+ and contribute to strategic tender development while

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Proven estimating experience in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of UK/Ireland construction markets and NEC/Contract familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage estimating activities with Bid Management.
• Review tender docs to identify opportunities, risks, and requirements.
• Engage suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and cost estimates.
• Visit project sites to understand scope and delivery requirements.
• Produce Bills of Quantities from tender docs and drawings.
• Prepare accurate estimates using first-principles methodologies.
• Lead tender adjudication and present estimates to senior stakeholders.
• Prepare high-quality tender submissions and manage deadlines.
