Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Buyer (Procurement) for Civils/Infrastructure to deliver end-to-end sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, services and plant for live projects. You will work closely with site teams, regional support, and the procurement function to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery aligned to programme and standards.

The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, commercial awareness, and a strong focus on delivering value within strict budgets and safety

Qualifications

• Experience in buying/procurement for civils/construction/engineering.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
• Commercial awareness and budget control.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Strong IT skills (MS Office + purchasing systems).
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Procure construction materials, services and plant across operational sectors.
• Run supplier selection, quote evaluation, negotiation (price/terms/logistics).
• Provide commercial support on the packages/contracts you buy.
• Liaise with site teams and suppliers to deliver a right-first-time service.
• Support internal stakeholders with product/commercial awareness throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Maintain auditable procurement trails and monitor progress.
