Job summary

Richardsonrecruit is recruiting for a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager to join a Yorkshire-based house builder''s technical team. The role focuses on leading civil engineering for residential developments from land acquisition through delivery, with potential to step into broader management as the function expands.

The ideal candidate will have a strong civil background, experience coordinating multiple consultants, and proficiency in CAD packages such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Site 3D.

Qualifications

• Residential development experience essential.
• Broad civil engineering knowledge to review and coordinate designs.
• Experience using CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Site 3D).

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering aspects of residential developments from pre-construction to delivery.
• Review reports and coordinate with external consultants for land acquisition and feasibility.
• Prepare technical reports and oversee high-level designs with consultants.
• Manage external engineers across drainage, highways, levels, retaining structures and Section 38/278 agreements.
• Provide technical guidance to Land, Technical and Commercial teams throughout development lifecycle.
• Mentor and develop a small engineering team as the business grows.
