Arcadis is the world’s leading design, engineering and consultancy firm. Our paid Intern & Placement programme offers hands-on experience across highways, rail, water and energy while you study towards a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

You’ll work on real projects, be mentored by professionals and gain exposure to UK and international clients over 10–12 weeks or a 12‑month placement. Based in the UK, you’ll develop core engineering and consulting techniques, join multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in a relevant subject (Placement & Intern only).
• Demonstrates resilience, creativity, analytical thinking and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (virtual working may be used).
• Comfortable with site-based working when required for projects.

Responsibilities

• Work across highways, rail, energy and water projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in designing infrastructure using advanced software and digital tools; assess assets for repair or reuse.
• Learn project delivery models, contracts and commercial constraints while collaborating with other disciplines.
• Attend site visits to ensure designs are safe, buildable and sustainable.
