Job summary

Arup in Southampton invites you to join our Civil Engineering team as a Summer Intern for 6-12 weeks. You'll work on real projects under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributing to energy, water and resources schemes, and gaining practical exposure across utilities, drainage and transport tasks.

From day one you'll participate in learning sessions, site visits, and network-building activities designed to accelerate your professional development and help you see things differently.

Qualifications

• 6–12 week internship program starting in the summer.
• Work on real-life projects alongside professionals.
• Participate in learning sessions and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assessment, analysis, and design tasks supporting reports and calculations.
• Collaborate with Arup colleagues across disciplines.
• Engage with landscape architects, environmental specialists, and planners.
• Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders, including site visits.
• Assist in survey information gathering and constraints analysis.
• Develop and appraise engineering options and business cases.
• Contribute to sustainability reviews and low/zero carbon studies.
