Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting a Civil Engineer to work across water and wastewater projects in the UK. The role will involve design, site reviews, and collaboration with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.

You will contribute to feasibility through to construction, support graduates, and travel to sites as needed, with a commitment to high-quality design and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Working towards Chartered/Incorporated membership (ICE, IMechE, etc) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with water or wastewater projects.
• Experience delivering high-quality outputs to design, quality and safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• Proactive and pragmatic approach.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review designs for schemes ensuring compliance with current legislation and standards.
• Produce and review technical specifications and procurement-related documentation.
• Understand, apply and contribute to design standards and client/industry expectations.
• Challenge client specifications and defend solutions to complex problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes with standard designs and digital tools.
• Act as technical checker on project documents and perform cross-team reviews.
• Coordinate design interfaces with other disciplines and production of documentation.
• Engage with clients and project teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Supervise and mentor Graduates and Engineers to develop skills.
