Arup in Manchester is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team and help deliver strategic masterplanning and infrastructure projects across the UK. You’ll work with senior engineers to shape development proposals from early definition to delivery planning.
You’ll collaborate with planners, transport engineers, environmental specialists and other disciplines to develop robust, deliverable designs for urban extensions, regeneration schemes and national infrastructure.

We work with clients to plan, build, integrate and maintain a wide variety of civil infrastructure, from bridges to reservoirs, from metro tunnels to off‑shore wind farms. Our technical teams address every aspect of civil engineering design, working in close collaboration with the full breadth of Arup’s other design and engineering disciplines.
Arup’s Civil Engineering team is looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join our Manchester team, supporting the delivery of strategic masterplanning and infrastructure projects across the UK. The role will work closely with senior engineers to help clients shape major development and regeneration proposals from the earliest stages of project definition through to delivery planning.
Our work focuses on the infrastructure challenges associated with large‑scale urban extensions, new town/residential area, regeneration schemes, healthcare developments, employment sites and nationally significant infrastructure projects. A key aspect of the role will be helping clients understand how development can be supported by integrated infrastructure strategies, utility networks and phased delivery plans.
You will work within multidisciplinary teams alongside, other civil engineers as well as planners, transport planners, environmental specialists, architects, energy consultants and structural engineers to develop robust and deliverable designs.
We are looking for someone with experience in civil engineering design who is passionate about delivering critical infrastructure and creating sustainable engineering solutions.
