Job summary

Arup in Leeds is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team. You will contribute to delivering sustainable, resilient and inclusive infrastructure across the UK, collaborating with colleagues across civil engineering, structures, transport planning, geotechnics, architecture, environmental services and digital teams.

The role emphasizes design delivery, client engagement and digital engineering.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
  • Interest in digital design, BIM and automation.
  • Progression toward or achievement of ICE chartership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated and sustainable design solutions.
  • Produce technical designs, drawings and reports to a high standard.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders and project teams to develop practical and innovative outcomes.
  • Take ownership of defined elements of projects, including checking the quality and accuracy of your work.
  • Contribute to the continued development of digital engineering and BIM‑led design approaches.

Arup’s Civil Engineering team is looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team in the Leeds office. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment delivering projects that help shape sustainable, resilient and inclusive communities across the UK.

Our portfolio spans a wide range of sectors and scales, including city centre regeneration, active travel and public realm improvements, rail and transport infrastructure, healthcare and education developments, data centres, utilities, flood alleviation and major residential and mixed‑use schemes. Many of our projects are high profile and technically challenging, with a strong focus on sustainability, digital innovation and delivering positive social impact.

We work across the full project lifecycle, from early‑stage advisory and concept development through to detailed design and construction support. Our clients include local authorities, government agencies, contractors, developers, utility providers and transport organisations. What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated and sustainable design solutions

What we are looking for
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in civil engineering design and project deliveryExperience using design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD or similar packages
  • An interest in digital design, BIM and/or automation within engineering delivery
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to problem solving
  • Progression toward or achievement of professional chartership (ICE or equivalent) would be advantageous
