Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team, delivering civil designs across power and energy projects in the UK, with opportunities in defence, transportation and industry. You will work within a multidisciplinary group to develop designs from concept through to detail, producing drawings and reports, and coordinating with other disciplines.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and proven design experience, with knowledge of Eurocodes/BS standards and BIM processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Professional experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
• Experience with drainage, earthworks and external works.
• Power sector experience is desirable but not essential.
• Proficient with Civil 3D/AutoCAD and related design software.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM and BIM processes; progressing towards chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil designs from concept to detailed design as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Produce drawings, specifications, calculations and technical reports.
• Coordinate civil designs with structural, electrical and other disciplines.
• Review technical information, calculations and subcontractor designs.
• Contribute to design reviews and ensure adherence to tech & quality standards.
• Share knowledge and support the development of less experienced engineers.
