Job summary

Criterion Capital is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Architectural and Development team, managing civil design from surveys through construction with a focus on drainage, utilities, external works and infrastructure in Greater London and the wider UK.

You will collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions that meet programme, budget and quality requirements on hotel, residential, and commercial redevelopment and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years UK civil engineering design and construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of underground drainage and utilities.
• Experience managing drainage surveys and remedial works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and related civil design software.
• Familiarity with UK Building Regulations and British Standards.
• Experience in hotel, residential, commercial refurbishment or conversion advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and review underground drainage systems (foul and surface water).
• Manage drainage CCTV surveys, condition assessments, and remedial works.
• Design and coordinate external works, roads, paving, levels and utilities.
• Coordinate water, sewer and drainage connections with authorities.
• Produce and review civil drawings, reports, specs, and proposals.
• Support site investigations, construction activities, and problem-solving.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and standards.
• Coordinate civil design with architectural, structural, MEP and construction teams.
• Identify infrastructure risks and cost-effective refurbishment solutions.
