Job summary

Arup in Manchester is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team, supporting the delivery of major data centre and electricity transmission projects across the UK.

You will be involved in planning, design and delivery of complex civil engineering solutions, including site development, drainage, earthworks and utilities coordination, within a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or AutoCAD.
• Interest in digital design, BIM and automation in engineering delivery.
• Proactive problem-solving and ability to work on complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions for data centre and transmission infrastructure projects.
• Develop site layouts, drainage strategies, earthworks designs, access arrangements and utility coordination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, sustainable designs.
• Produce technical designs, drawings, calculations and reports to a high standard.
• Engage with clients and project teams to develop practical and innovative outcomes.
• Take ownership of defined elements of projects and ensure quality checks.
• Contribute to digital engineering, BIM-led delivery and data-driven design approaches.
