Job summary

Arup’s Civil Engineering team in Manchester is recruiting a Civil Engineer to support major data centre and electricity transmission projects across the UK. You will help plan, design and deliver complex civil solutions, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and contributing to data-driven, BIM-led project delivery.

You will work on site in Manchester with opportunities to influence digital engineering approaches while growing your chartership and technical leadership within Arup’s broader

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience using design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD or similar packages.
• Interest in digital design, BIM and/or automation within engineering delivery.
• Proactive and adaptable problem solving attitude.
• Progression toward or achievement of professional chartership (ICE or equivalent) would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions for data centre and electricity transmission infrastructure projects.
• Developing site layouts, drainage strategies, earthworks designs, access arrangements and utility coordination solutions.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated and sustainable engineering designs.
• Producing technical designs, drawings, calculations and reports to a high standard.
• Engaging with clients, stakeholders and project teams to develop practical and innovative outcomes.
• Taking ownership of defined elements of projects, including checking the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Contributing to the continued development of digital engineering, BIM-led delivery and data-driven design approaches.
