Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its highways and infrastructure team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on hands-on infrastructure design, 3D modelling, and developing detailed highway solutions in line with DMRB standards.

The successful candidate will work on Section 278 schemes and related highway projects, with training and development support provided and a hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering design within highways or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of highway design principles and infrastructure development.
• Technical experience with CAD and 3D modelling applications, including Flow and Site 3D where applicable.
• Knowledge of Section 278 highway agreements and associated design processes.
• Understanding of DMRB standards and relevant highways guidance.
• Enjoy hands-on technical design and modelling work.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop through structured training and practical project experience.

Responsibilities

• Developing civil engineering designs and infrastructure schemes for highways projects.
• Preparing and reviewing designs relating to Section 278 agreements and associated highway works.
• Producing and managing detailed highway and infrastructure models using relevant CAD and 3D design software.
• Applying the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) to support compliant project delivery.
• Carrying out technical calculations, design checks and engineering assessments.
• Collaborating with project teams, clients, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Preparing technical drawings, specifications and supporting project documentation.
• Developing practical engineering solutions while maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy.

Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its highways and infrastructure team on a permanent basis. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically minded engineer with hands-on experience in infrastructure design who enjoys developing detailed models and contributing to the delivery of highway projects. Full training and development support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing civil engineering designs and infrastructure schemes for highways projects


• Preparing and reviewing designs relating to Section 278 agreements and associated highway works
