Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Principal Highways Engineer to join a global engineering and design consultancy for major transport projects in the UK. The role is technical director level, reporting to senior leadership and focusing on highway design excellence.

You will lead complex design work, mentor engineers and review interface drawings, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client requirements in a hybrid London-based setup.

Job description

Our client is a global engineering and design consultancy delivering infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. They are looking to appoint a Principal Highways Engineer to join their established highways team, supporting the design and delivery of major transport and infrastructure schemes. This is a role where the selected canddiate will be working at a technical director level.

This position would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys the technical side of highway design and wants to play a leading role in solving complex engineering challenges, without moving into a predominantly management-focused position.

The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical expertise throughout the design process, supporting projects from concept through to construction. You will act as a technical lead on schemes, reviewing designs, providing engineering guidance and ensuring work is delivered in line with industry standards.

Knowledge & Experience

A good understanding of current highway design standards is essential. You\'ll be comfortable acting as the technical point of contact on projects, solving complex engineering problems, reviewing the work of others and providing practical engineering solutions.
