Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join the Capital Programme team in London. The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £68,144 plus Inner London Allowance and a 3% bonus, with blended working after probation (3 days in office, 2 remote).

The successful candidate will design civil/structural schemes in compliance with CDM and UKPN standards, liaising with PMs, designers and the PDC to deliver quality, safe designs.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering (BSc) or equivalent.
• Civil/structural engineering background with utility sector experience.
• Solid understanding of CDM Regulations and safety practices (IOSH training preferred).
• Ability to collaborate with project managers, designers and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce civil designs to project briefs meeting time, cost and quality constraints.
• Liaise with Project Manager and other designers to ensure compliance with design standards.
• Produce technical, commercial and contractual documents for procurement.
• Mentor Trainee/Graduate engineers and support CAD team to deliver construction drawings.
