Job summary

UK Power Networks in London is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Capital Programme and Procurement directorate. You will deliver high quality electrical designs to time, cost and quality targets, meeting CDM and UKPN standards as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The role offers blended working after 6 months (3 days in the office, 2 remote) with a salary of £84,160 plus inner London Allowance and a 3% bonus. Close date 23/09/2026 and extensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong Electrical engineering background and experience in electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of power system and protection design at 132KV, 33KV, 11KV, and intermediate voltages.
• Degree level or equivalent in engineering or science.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.

Responsibilities

• Production of Electrical Designs that can be constructed in compliance with standards and CDM requirements.
• Deliver designs conforming to Codes of Practice and standards for sub-stations.
• Contribute to procurement documents and design audits.
• Liaise with operational teams to ensure smooth process from enquiry to energisation and project closure.
