Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a Civil CAD Technician/Engineer to join its transport planning and infrastructure team in Godalming/Waterloo.

You will work on highways, drainage, SuDS and earthworks, deliver CAD drawings and technical design, with mentoring and aim for ICE Chartership, in a hybrid setup.

Ideal candidates have 1-4 years' experience, a relevant qualification (HNC/BEng/MEng), and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years' experience in civil engineering or infrastructure design.
• HNC, BEng, MEng or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in highways, drainage, earthworks, level strategies or plot design.
• Good CAD skills and interest in developing technical design capabilities.
• Experience using Civil 3D and/or Site3D would be advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive learning mindset.
• Interest in ICE professional registration.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
• Produce high-quality CAD drawings and technical design information.
• Work on highways, drainage, SuDS, earthworks and plot design.
• Develop level strategies and undertake cut-and-fill assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and planning submissions.
• Coordinate infrastructure designs with wider project teams.
• Liaise with clients and other stakeholders as experience develops.
• Work alongside senior engineers, receiving mentoring and technical guidance.
