Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Civil CAD Technician / Engineer to join its infrastructure team in a hybrid role with offices in Godalming and Waterloo. The successful candidate will work on highways, drainage and earthworks across multiple sectors, developing through mentoring and exposure to the full project lifecycle.

Ideal applicants have 1-4 years of experience, CAD skills, and a desire to progress toward ICE chartership, with opportunities for client exposure and professional development

Qualifications

• 1-4 years' experience in civil engineering or infrastructure design
• HNC, BEng, MEng or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in highways, drainage, earthworks, level strategies or plot design
• Good CAD skills and an interest in developing your technical design capabilities
• Experience using Civil 3D and/or Site3D would be advantageous
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
• An interest in progressing towards ICE professional registration

• Producing high-quality CAD drawings and technical design information
• Working on highways, drainage, SuDS, earthworks and plot design
• Developing level strategies and undertaking cut-and-fill assessments
• Preparing technical reports, specifications and planning submissions
• Coordinating infrastructure designs with wider project teams
• Liaising with clients and other stakeholders as your experience develops
• Working alongside senior engineers, receiving mentoring and technical guidance

Civil CAD Technician / Engineer - Godalming / Waterloo

Location: Godalming / Waterloo, London
Salary: £33,000 - £42,000 DOE
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

The Opportunity

An established, independently owned transport planning and infrastructure consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil CAD Technician / Engineer to join its growing infrastructure team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-4 years' experience to develop their technical skills while working on a varied portfolio of development-led projects across residential, commercial, leisure, healthcare and other sectors.

You’ll work closely with experienced Principal Engineers, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction. With a close-knit team and a strong focus on professional development, you’ll have the opportunity to take on responsibility early and build towards ICE professional registration.

The Role

What We're Looking For

• Around 1-4 years' experience in civil engineering or infrastructure design
• HNC, BEng, MEng or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in one or more areas of highways, drainage, earthworks, level strategies or plot design
• Good CAD skills and an interest in developing your technical design capabilities
• Experience using Civil 3D and/or Site3D would be advantageous
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
• An interest in progressing towards ICE professional registration
