Job description

We are seeking a passionate, connected, and well-organised leader to manage and develop our Church Engagement team and mission with UK churches, networks, community groups, and volunteers. The role requires someone motivated by their Christian faith with a passion to inspire and influence the UK Church to show love, strengthen faith, and bring joy to millions across the Middle East and North Africa.

As we approach our 30th anniversary, we aim to inspire a new generation of churches and individuals to engage with global and local missions; to raise awareness and understanding of the Church in the MENA region; and to increase engagement, giving, and prayer.

The Church Engagement team is part of the External Engagement Department, which includes communications, publications, resources, press, media, digital content, marketing, fundraising, church engagement, events, and volunteers. These teams collaborate to ensure a connected strategy that delivers a coherent public message, maximising opportunities to increase income and deepen understanding and engagement. Other staff include those in operations, finance, and a small Development Team working with major donors.

Key Responsibilities

This role offers the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of millions in the Middle East and North Africa. You will help manage, maintain, and increase income and engagement through the following responsibilities:

1. Work with the team to implement strategies for growing income and engagement with churches and individuals, maintaining prospect lists, and communicating with churches to resource and increase engagement.
2. Manage, motivate, and support a diverse team across different geographical locations and working patterns.
3. Assist in delivering the church partnership and media projects program, inviting church leaders and churches to participate, and helping research, prepare, and send proposals, reports, and resources.
4. Analyze current church giving patterns and identify pathways to increase engagement and levels of giving, including individual donations.
5. Support high-level church relationships and collaborate with the Engagement Officer to mobilise ambassadors and volunteers within churches to promote prayer for the MENA region and church giving.
6. Oversee SAT-7’s presence at events and conferences to maximise engagement opportunities and reach new supporters.
7. Identify current and future engagement resources to inspire and mobilise supporter churches and explore wider opportunities with denominations and Christian networks.
8. Lead regular one-on-one meetings and promote SAT-7 UK’s personal development plans for team members, including conducting appraisals and mid-year reviews.
