Job summary

AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, seeks a visionary R&D Leader to establish and lead a new software development initiative in China. The role will build a high-performing local team, align with global product strategies, and deliver software solutions tailored for China customers.

You will recruit engineers, set up the China R&D center, define KPIs, manage budgets, and ensure delivery quality, scalability, and performance while bridging China and global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software R&D with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams in multinational or matrixed environments.
• Experience delivering industrial software for customers in China.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices including Agile and hybrid/cloud architectures.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English.

Responsibilities

• Team Formation & Leadership: Recruit, onboard, and develop a new R&D team in China.
• Site Setup & Operations: Lead operational setup of the China R&D center with infrastructure and local compliance.
• Strategic Alignment: Translate global and local product/tech strategies into local execution plans.
• Product Development: Drive software components and features for the China market following AVEVA’s processes.
• Cross-Regional Collaboration: Bridge China-based teams with global stakeholders across time zones.
• Talent Development: Mentor and grow engineering leaders; establish career development paths.
• Governance & Reporting: Define KPIs, manage budgets, and report progress to leadership.
