Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc seeks a market research analyst to support PGM demand analysis in China, forecast trends, and explore new applications. You will work with some autonomy on weekly/monthly deliverables and contribute to market insights.

Responsibilities include monitoring PGM supply/demand, building models to forecast demand, identifying new uses, and supporting market research reports and presentations. English and Mandarin are essential; a bachelor's degree and 2+ years in related markets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, mathematical or economic discipline.
• 2+ years’ experience in industrial markets or the wider PGM industry, preferably in market research.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and spoken English; fluent Mandarin.
• Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization.
• Proactive in learning and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor PGM supply and demand; report to the China Research team with actions.
• Use existing models and develop new ones to forecast demand/supply for PGM.
• Identify new uses of PGM; assess feasibility with the China team.
• Deliver near- and long-term views of PGM demand in China.
• Update Johnson Matthey sectors on PGM fundamentals; support customer visits.
• Expand and maintain a network of international contacts.
• Contribute to ad-hoc research projects and market reports.
• Carry out other duties within skills as reasonably instructed.
