Job summary

Johnson Controls are the global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings; we seek an experienced HVAC Service Technician to work on site at Heathrow Airport. You will service, maintain and repair chillers and HVAC equipment, with occasional UK travel, troubleshooting within defined timelines and ensuring safety.

Strong HVAC qualifications and a full UK driving licence are required; F-GAS Cat 1 is preferred. Competitive salary and extensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 or equivalent in HVAC, with F-GAS 2079 Cat 1 preferred.
• Proven service engineer experience in air conditioning.
• Experience with chillers, DX, Split & VRV systems, AHUs and ventilation equipment.
• Electrical and controls knowledge to diagnose issues.
• Familiar with major manufacturers such as York, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Hitachi or Mitsubishi Electric.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and in a team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance and repair work on chillers and HVAC equipment.
• Static role at Heathrow Airport with occasional travel to UK client sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical service issues within defined timeframes.
• Carry out system PPM per contract requirements and report findings.
• Recommend system improvements, upgrades or optimisations.
• Maintain Health and Safety standards at all times.

What you will do

As an HVAC Service Technician, your day-to-day role will include service, maintenance and repair work on various chillers and other HVAC equipment installed at our clients’ facilities. This is a primarily static role based at Heathrow Airport but may require occasional travel to different client locations across the UK. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical service issues within a set timeframe and according to a defined process, service agreement and customer needs. You will carry out system PPM as per contract requirements, communicating clearly findings and any further actions required or recommendations for system improvement, upgrades or optimisations. Health and Safety will be at the forefront of everything you do.

What we look for

• Recognised HVAC qualification: NVQ level 2 or equivalent (NVQ level 3 not essential but desirable).
• Proven experience in the service engineer role within the air conditioning industry.
• F-GAS 2079 Cat 1 qualification.
• Experience & working knowledge with Chillers, DX, Split & VRV systems, AHUs & ventilation plant.
• Experience working with major manufacturers such as York, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi Electric.
• Electrical and controls experience to be able to identify and rectify electrical and control issues.
• Understanding of relevant technical documents such as electrical schemes, fluid schemes, piping diagrams, psychometric diagrams.
• Capable of working without documented procedures and with limited supervision.
• A committed can-do positive attitude with the ability to integrate and work as a member of a team.
• A full UK driving license.
