Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a QA Technician for its Twin Brook site in Clitheroe. You will join the Quality team at a centre of excellence for pickled and fermented vegetables, ensuring products meet customer, legal, and safety standards on every batch.

You’ll carry out extensive quality checks, support CAPA actions, and participate in internal audits, all within a collaborative production environment that values continuous improvement and compliance.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene required
• HACCP Level 1/2 required
• Essential Hygiene & Chemical Awareness
• ESOL Entry Level 2 or equivalent (desirable)
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Experience in a Quality Assurance role (chilled food desirable)
• Good understanding of BRC standards and food safety legislation
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Responsibilities

• Drive high quality product and packaging standards.
• Carry out compliance checks on finished products, raw materials, packaging, artwork and sleeves.
• Perform pH, packaging, label, weight and component checks.
• Conduct sensory testing on raw materials and finished products.
• Prepare chemical and microbiological analyses per schedules.
• Complete allergen, CCP and production compliance checks.
• Support corrective actions following non-conformances.
• Undertake internal audits for BRC, HACCP, legal and customer standards.
• Perform environmental swabbing, water testing and air plate sampling.
• Monitor temperatures of products and factory areas.
• Calibrate CCP measuring equipment.
• Supervise end-of-AM shift clean where required.
• Attend daily, weekly and monthly operational meetings.
• Organise and facilitate product sensory panels
