  • Observe and understand: Monitor and assess behaviour in line with agreed protocols, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Foster positive development: Supervise day-to-day care practices to create an accepting and positive environment for personal growth.
  • Contribute to care planning: Participate in the planning for the admission and discharge of young people.
  • Ensure safety: Be prepared to physically intervene in situations where a young person's behaviour poses a risk (training and guidance provided).
  • Follow safeguarding procedures: Adhere to agreed protocols for reporting missing persons.
  • Collaborate effectively: Work with colleagues to develop, implement, and review individual care plans.
  • Be an active team member: Attend and contribute to important team meetings.
  • Communicate professionally: Liaise effectively with carers, social work staff, specialists, and other professional agencies.
  • Build positive partnerships: Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with families and external agencies.
  • Participate in reviews: Attend childcare reviews and other relevant meetings.

  • Uphold high standards: Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness in all areas and assist with meal preparation as needed.
  • Contribute to household tasks: Carry out household duties such as shopping, cleaning, and gardening to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Remain calm under pressure: Demonstrate sensitivity and appropriate assertiveness in challenging situations.
