Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions in Bradford seeks a Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a 6-bed therapeutic home, ensuring Ofsted registration and a safe, nurturing environment. You will drive safeguarding, staff development and a high standard of care.

You will manage budgeting, referrals and partnerships with local authorities to meet the needs of young people, with a focus on trauma-informed practice and continuous improvement toward a Good/Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
• Experience as Registered/Deputy/Senior Manager in children's residential care.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation.
• Experience supporting children with EBD, trauma and complex needs.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Experience managing budgets and compliance.
• Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS clearance and references.

Job description

Role: Registered Children's Home Manager

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Hours: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

Salary: 53,000 - 60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

What will you be doing?

• Taking overall responsibility for the leadership, management and development of a 6-bed therapeutic children's residential home.
• Registering with Ofsted and ensuring the home operates in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment that promotes positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Leading, motivating and developing a team of residential support workers, seniors and deputies to deliver outstanding care.
• Ensuring safeguarding remains at the heart of all practice and that concerns are managed appropriately and effectively.
• Managing staffing, recruitment, supervision, training and performance management.
• Monitoring and maintaining quality assurance processes, audits and compliance standards across the service.
• Building effective relationships with local authorities, placing authorities, social workers, families, education providers and other professionals.
• Managing referrals, admissions and placement matching to ensure the needs of young people can be successfully met.
• Overseeing budgets and resources to ensure the effective operation of the home.
• Championing a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach to support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
• Driving continuous improvement and striving towards achieving and maintaining a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
• Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or Senior Manager within a children's residential setting.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation and children's residential care standards.
• Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, trauma, attachment difficulties and complex needs.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Experience managing budgets, compliance and operational performance.
• Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory employment references.
