Job summary

The Children’s Society is recruiting a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner to join Rise Mental Health Support Teams in Newcastle & Gateshead. You will deliver evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions in educational settings to support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The role is a fixed-term, full-time position (35 hours/week) with a salary of £30,997 per annum, offering a range of benefits and a commitment to safeguarding and high-quality mental health

Qualifications

  • Completed the Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Postgraduate Diploma.
  • Evidence of working in settings with children and young people (0–18) with emotional/behavioural/mental health difficulties.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 sessions and groups.
  • Experience using person-centred approaches and outcome tools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions in educational settings.
  • Support schools to develop whole-school mental health approaches.
  • Contribute to Rise MHST objectives in Newcastle & Gateshead.
  • Work with children and young people to improve wellbeing.

The Children’s Society has vacancies for Education Mental Health Practitioners within our Rise Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Newcastle & Gateshead. The Rise service offers evidence-based individual and group interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, as well as supporting settings to develop their whole school/college approach to mental health.

We are seeking aCWP (Children's Wellbeing Practitioner) with:
  • To have completed the Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Postgraduate Diploma.
  • Evidence of working in settings with people age 0-18 (predominantly 0-17) who have emotional, behavioural and/or mental health difficulties.
  • Evidence of providing 1:1 session and groups.
  • Evidence of working in a person-centred approach.
  • Evidence of assessments and Outcome tools
