Job summary

Bayview Childcare in Capernwray, Carnforth is seeking a motivated Residential Home Team Leader to support up to four young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and a Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children & Young People, with a base salary of £28,915.33 and potential to earn up to £35,635.33 with sleep-in shifts.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children & Young People required.

Responsibilities

• Produce, review, and maintain high-quality care plans in line with legislation and Ofsted standards.
• Build positive relationships with young people and support development and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and ensure staff follow policies and health & safety expectations.
• Record and communicate key information to young people, families, professionals, and the Registered Manager.
• Support daily operations when the Registered Manager is absent, including staffing and care standards.
• Assist with budgeting, rota management, sleep-ins/on-call, and household planning such as menus.
• Lead or contribute to team meetings and encourage staff input in improvements.
• Ensure staffing levels are appropriate, manage absences, and carry out staff supervisions.

Salary: Base salary of £28,915.33 per annum, with the potential to earn up to £35,635.33 per annum with sleep‑in shifts

Roles Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment by modelling positive behaviour and ensuring staff follow policies, risk assessments, and health & safety expectations.
• Record and communicate key information, sharing updates with young people, families, professionals, and the Registered Manager.
• Support daily operations when the Registered Manager is absent, including staffing and care standards.
• Assist with budgeting, rota management, sleep‑ins/on‑call, and household planning such as menus.
• Lead or contribute to team meetings, encourage open communication, and involve staff in improvement ideas.
• Ensure staffing levels are appropriate, manage absences, and carry out staff supervisions.
• Keep your knowledge up to date through required training.
• Raise concerns appropriately, escalating to the Responsible Individual when necessary.
