Job summary

Bay View Childcare in Carnforth, England, is seeking a dynamic Senior Residential Support Worker to join our family‑style homes for 8–18‑year‑olds with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Based in Carnforth, you will provide care and lead the team to help each child thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will deliver high-quality care, lead the team, carry out care planning and risk assessments, ensure regulatory compliance, and pursue ongoing CPD.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering care to children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Ability to undertake care planning and risk assessments.
• Provide leadership to childcare staff and ensure high standards of practice.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and company policies.

Senior Residential Support Worker

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Responsible to: Registered Manager

Location: Carnforth

Salary: £27,750.53 with the potential to earn up to £34,470.53 with sleep-in shifts

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our established residential team at Bay View Childcare. Based in one of our family-style children's homes in Carnforth, you'll support up to four young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them thrive in a safe, secure and nurturing environment.

Our homes are rated Outstanding or Good by Ofsted, and you'll play a key role in maintaining these high standards.

Main Purpose of the Role

• Deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people within the home
• Help achieve the best outcomes for each child through effective care planning, key work sessions and risk assessments
• Provide leadership and guidance to support good practice in childcare
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company policies
• Promote Bay View Childcare's values and contribute to the continuous improvement of care standards
• Support regulatory requirements, including Regulation 44 visits
• If you do not already hold the required qualification, you will be expected to undertake and complete a relevant Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children and Young People or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship within two years
• Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and accompanying guidance and regulations, the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
• A full UK driving licence
• Competitive salary plus up to £6,720 in sleep-in payments, typically based on 6-8 sleep-ins per month at £70 per sleep-in
