Job summary

iMap Centre Ltd in Winsford, Cheshire is hiring Casual Children's Support Workers to help children and young people with autism and learning disabilities live fulfilling lives in a 4-bed home. The role offers flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and holidays.

You will support daily living activities, education, hobbies and community participation, build trusting relationships and promote independence and life skills, while safeguarding and maintaining a safe home environment.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with autism and learning disabilities.
• Ability to work flexibly across a range of shifts.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
• Experience in residential care, preferably with children.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children with daily living activities and personal care where required.
• Encouraging participation in education, hobbies, social activities and community opportunities.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Promoting independence, communication and life skills.
• Supporting children to manage behaviours that may challenge through positive and proactive approaches.
• Maintaining a safe, caring and structured home environment.
• Completing accurate records and reports.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, schools, health professionals and other agencies.
