As a leading care agency specializing in temporary recruitment, Nurseplus is looking for Children’s and Young People Support Workers. You should be highly motivated, committed, and genuinely interested in providing the best possible care for children and young people. With Nurseplus, you will work across various settings including Mental Health, Autism, Challenging Behavior, Education, and Residential care.

Your role as a Children and Young People’s Support Worker involves working closely with children in care, ensuring their needs are at the center of your work. Your daily tasks will include supporting their educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities.

Your support and experience will contribute to positive outcomes, helping shape the future of children and young people.

  • Flexible shifts to suit your schedule – full or part-time, days, nights, and weekends
  • Pay rates from £13.15 to £18.50 per hour, paid weekly*

Responsibilities of a Children and Young People’s Support Worker:

  • Supporting, safeguarding, and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Assisting with daily routines, which may include working in the community and/or educational settings
  • Organizing and facilitating social activities
  • Transportation
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe practices
  • Providing high levels of supervision and support
  • Working in accordance with Ofsted regulations
  • Managing complex behaviors and crisis interventions
  • Contributing to care plans and risk assessments, including reviews and implementation

Requirements for the role:

  • At least 6 months of experience working with children and/or young adults
  • Must be over 21 years old to meet industry regulations
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Knowledge in areas such as EBD, SEMH, CSE, and SEND
  • Good standard of English and effective communication skills
  • Desirable: Diploma 3 / 4 in Health and Social Care/Residential Care
  • Enhanced DBS check (cost £45.40, refundable after a set period of employment)
