About the role

Vision For Education is seeking Children’s Residential Support Workers for a temporary to permanent role within a children’s residential care setting in Rotherham.

The role

The Residential Support Worker will work in a Children’s residential setting with Looked After Children (LAC), who may have SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health issues), ASD, ADHD, PDA, attachment disorders, and challenging behaviors. The role requires a committed, enthusiastic, resilient individual with excellent communication skills, experience in report writing and record keeping, emotional intelligence, and the ability to react calmly in stressful situations.

This is a full-time, temporary to permanent position starting as soon as possible.

The Setting

This setting caters to young people aged 10 to 15 years within a residential environment.

Requirements

To be considered, you should:

• Hold a full, clean driving license and have owned a vehicle for over 3 years (own transport is essential).
• Have at least 6 months of relevant experience (e.g., in schools, youth centers, sports coaching, residential settings, respite centers).
• Experience working with challenging behaviors is highly desirable.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.
• Be proactive and able to work on initiative.
• Be available to work Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.
• Have a desire to work with young people with special educational needs.
• Having an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is preferred but not essential.
