Children's Residential Support Worker
Location: Preston
Hours: Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a well-established residential provision in Preston. The service supports children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding and vital role for individuals who are committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children and helping them develop the skills they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support for children within a residential setting.
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive development.
  • Build meaningful and trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Implement and follow individual support plans tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Support with daily routines, personal care, educational activities and emotional regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to deliver high-quality care and support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Willingness to work a rota including evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts.
  • A valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
