Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Residential Children & Young Peoples Support Worker in Coalville, Leicestershire to care for 8–18 year olds in a supportive home environment. You will build trusting relationships and work with families and professionals to promote growth, independence and emotional resilience.

Applicants should have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to achieve it, with a commitment to safeguarding and flexible work including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank

Job Description

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team in a nurturing Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home located in Coalville, Leicestershire. This role offers the opportunity to support children and young people aged 8–18 in a safe, caring environment that promotes growth, independence, and emotional resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Building trusting, nurturing relationships that promote each young person's independence and wellbeing.
• Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to deliver holistic care.
• Contributing to the day-to-day running of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Accurately documenting and maintaining records in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
• Promoting and maintaining a safe, supportive environment at all times.
• Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the protection of all service users.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to achieve this within the required timeframe.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives.
• Be flexible and committed to working sleep-ins, shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
