Are you an experienced Children's Home Manager or Deputy Manager looking for a role that's a little different from the traditional children's home model?
We're recruiting for an Ofsted Registered Manager to lead a specialist children's short-break service in Shrewsbury, providing respite stays for children and young people with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities.
This isn't a traditional children's home. The service provides short breaks of around 2-3 nights, giving children and young people the opportunity to enjoy a fun, exciting and positive stay away from home, with activities and experiences planned around their individual needs, interests and wishes.
Working for a charity with a brilliant reputation for the difference they make in people's lives, this is really rewarding opportunity for an experienced children's home manager who's looking for something exciting and different.
As the Ofsted Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the leadership and operational management of the home, ensuring that children receive high-quality, child-centred care and that the service continues to meet all regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
It's essential that you have:
Experience with disabilities isn't essential - If you're currently working with children and young people with EBD and are interested in moving into a specialist LD/autism service, this could be an excellent opportunity. The organisation can support you to develop your knowledge and experience of working with children with learning disabilities and physical needs.
You’ll also need to be able to work flexibly around the needs of the service. Children attend from Wednesday through to Monday, and management cover is shared between the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and two Team Leaders. As a result, you'll be expected to work at least 1 weekend in 4 as part of the management rota.
