Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is seeking an experienced Registered Manager for a 2-bed Children's EBD residential home in Edgbaston, Birmingham. You will lead day-to-day operations, ensure Ofsted compliance and develop a high-performing team to deliver safe, therapeutic care for children.

You will oversee care plans, safeguarding, budgets and stakeholder partnerships, with a focus on achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings and positive outcomes for children in a supportive, well-resourced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in children's residential care with Ofsted regulatory knowledge.
• 2+ years in residential childcare, including 1 year in a supervisory/management role.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager for the home.
• Lead the day-to-day operation of the service, ensuring full compliance with regulations and standards.
• Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing, child-focused staff team.
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for children.
• Develop and oversee individual care plans promoting positive outcomes across education, health and wellbeing.
• Ensure safeguarding, risk management and child protection procedures are upheld.
• Allocate support to Key Workers for consistent, high-quality care.
• Build relationships with families, local authorities, education providers and professionals.
• Manage the home's budget and resources to ensure strong performance.
• Drive improvement to achieve a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience working within children's residential care.
• At least 2 years' experience in residential childcare, including 1 year in a supervisory or management position within the last five years.
• A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and SCCIF.
• Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and managing complex behaviours.
• Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
• Experience managing staffing, budgets and operational performance.
• A passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care and achieving positive outcomes.
• A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to enrol within six months of appointment.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

• Manage the home's budget and resources effectively, ensuring strong commercial performance.
• Drive continuous improvement with the aim of achieving and maintaining a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
• Promote a positive culture where children are encouraged to reach their full potential.
