Christ Church in Tunbridge Wells is seeking a part-time Children’s Assistant to support and develop ministry to children aged 0–11 years. You will work closely with the Director of Children’s Ministry, attend staff prayers, and help run sessions and volunteer rotas in a welcoming church environment.

Hours total 15 per week, including Sundays, with some evenings and flexible scheduling. Training in First Aid and Safeguarding provided.

Qualifications

• Good IT skills, proficient with Microsoft Office and social media.
• Self-starter who can create volunteer rotas and communicate with parents.
• Team player within the Children’s volunteer team and wider staff group.
• Strong time management and ability to work under deadlines.
• Experience working with children in a church context.

Responsabilités

• Be a full member of the staff team and attend staff meetings and prayer times.
• Support the leadership of our ministry to children on Sundays and during the week.
• Prepare and deliver children’s ministry sessions.
• Help facilitate a children’s social programme, appropriate for different ages.
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Children’s Work.
• Help recruit, train and organise volunteer teams for Children’s ministry.
• Build relationships with families of children and encourage involvement in church life.
• Extend the church’s Children’s ministry into the community and run a holiday club.
• Be a core member of the Kids Church Team and attend termly evening meetings.
• Assist in preparing volunteer rotas for Sundays for children’s ministry.
• Help with administration and purchase of resources for children’s ministry.
• First Aid and Safeguarding training will be provided.
