Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Children's Services Team across Surrey. You will lead medicines optimisation, build collaborative relationships with clinicians and partners, and support governance and quality assurance.

Regular travel across locations is required and hybrid working is available from Surrey hubs. Ideal candidates will be registered Pharmacy Technicians with NVQ Level 3, knowledge of medicines legislation, and strong IT/data skills, with the ability

Qualifications

• Qualified Pharmacy Technician registration and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medicines legislation and medicines management within community services.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent IT and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote best practice in medicines optimisation across Children’s Services.
• Build strong relationships with clinical colleagues, commissioners and partner organisations.
• Support medicines optimisation programmes across the ICS/ICB.
• Analyse medicines data, audits and incident reports; provide recommendations.
• Produce and present reports on medicines governance and optimisation activities.
• Support development and implementation of medicines-related SOPs.
• Undertake audits, service reviews and site visits to strengthen medicines governance.
• Contribute to PGD governance and Non-Medical Prescribing governance.
• Help ensure safe handling, storage and administration of medicines.
• Provide medicines-related training and competency support to colleagues.
• Support quality improvement initiatives involving controlled drugs and antimicrobials.
• Represent the Lead Pharmacist at medicines management meetings.
• Keep up to date with legislation and professional developments.
• Maintain standards per GPhC and Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
