Job summary

Theracare Homes is seeking a Team Leader to guide staff, lead shifts and help create a safe, nurturing home for children aged 8 to 18 with emotional and behavioural needs. You will oversee daily operations and ensure effective handovers, while liaising with families and professionals to support progress.

The role requires a QCF Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to achieve, strong leadership, safeguarding knowledge, and a full UK driving licence where

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in residential care, social care, education, youth work or a comparable setting.
• QCF Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or recognised equivalent, or willingness to achieve within timescales.
• Confidence in leading staff, taking responsibility and making appropriate decisions.
• Understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and behaviour support.
• Calm, resilient approach and ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Good communication, teamwork and record keeping skills.
• Reliability, flexibility and willingness to work the required rota.
• Full UK driving licence where driving is required by the service.

• Respond to incidents and safeguarding concerns, escalating to management when needed.
• Maintain accurate records, oversee staff documentation and deliver effective handovers.
• Work with families, social workers and other professionals to support children's progress.

Job description

Theracare provides safe, nurturing homes for children and young people aged 8 to 18 with emotional and behavioural needs. As a Team Leader, you will guide staff, lead shifts and help create a home where children feel secure, valued and understood. We believe supporting our staff is essential to providing great care.

Location & Compensation

Location: Chipping, near Preston

Salary: £34,496 per annum equivalent, based on £15.25 per hour plus £54 per sleepShift pattern:
Shift pattern: 2 on, 4 off, with two working days followed by four days off on a rotating rota.
