Are you an experienced Team Leader looking for your next challenge, or a Senior Residential Support Worker ready to step into a leadership role?

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Team Leader to join our specialist children's residential service in Sturry. This is an exciting opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people while developing your career within a growing and ambitious organisation.

Working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in leading shifts, supporting staff and ensuring high standards of care are consistently delivered.

Salary & Benefits

Salary is £40,000 per annum and includes up to 8 sleep-ins per month. If fewer than 8 sleep-ins are available, your salary will not be reduced. Additional sleep-ins are paid at £50 per sleep-in and any hours worked above contracted monthly hours will be paid at your standard hourly rate.

We also offer flexible working patterns, enhanced maternity and paternity packages, a Staff Loyalty Scheme, Blue Light Card discounts, a Refer-a-Friend Scheme paying up to £2,000, 28 days annual leave including bank holidays, a funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, ongoing training and excellent career progression opportunities within a growing organisation.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day operation of the home, lead shifts and help create a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.

You will support staff teams, promote positive outcomes, ensure safeguarding standards are maintained and contribute towards the home's compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.

The home provides specialist care and support for children and young people requiring 2:1 and 3:1 staffing arrangements, so experience working with complex behaviours, emotional needs and trauma-informed approaches would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shifts and support the daily operation of the home.
  • Mentor, guide and support Residential Support Workers.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
  • Support care planning, record keeping and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with families, social workers and external professionals.
  • Contribute to staff development, inductions and training.
  • Help maintain a positive culture and high standards across the service.
Requirements

Applicants must have previous experience within a Children's Residential Home and experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

You should hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and have the ability to lead shifts, support staff and work effectively within a leadership team.

Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader would be advantageous, along with experience supporting children requiring higher levels of staffing and intervention.
