Job summary

Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment Ltd in London is seeking a Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead a new solo-bed service in Euston. The role requires safeguarding expertise and responsibility for overall service operation, regulatory compliance and care outcomes for young people.

You will manage strategic planning, rostering, staff development and partnerships, with a salary of £52,000–£58,600 per annum plus car allowance and other benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ Registered Manager experience in a children’s residential setting with safeguarding knowledge.
• NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation (Children’s Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Ofsted regulations).

Responsibilities

• Ensure care delivery focuses on best outcomes for young people.
• Oversee strategic planning, rota management and safeguarding.
• Develop staff, supervise practice, and maintain high standards.
• Build partnerships with professionals, agencies and the local community.
• Lead service compliance with Children’s Home Regulations.

Children’s Home Registered Manager
Salary:£52,000 – £58,600 per annum

Our client is looking to reopen their solo bed children’s home in London and are now seeking an excited, professional and motivated Registered Manager to lead the service. Their other homes are rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted and are committed to putting young people at the centre of everything theydo.

As Registered Manager, you will be accountable for the overall running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with Children’s Home Regulations.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring care delivery is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for young people.
• Taking responsibility for strategic planning, rota management, safeguarding and staff development.
• Maintaining effective partnerships with professionals, agencies and the local community.
• Taking a proactive role in staff supervision, mentoring, training, and ensuring high practice standards.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years’ Registered Managerexperience in a children’s residential setting, with strong safeguarding knowledge.
• NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of the Children’s Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and Ofsted regulations.

Additional Information

• The role is subject to a 6-month probationary period and a 3-month notice period (other than in disciplinary cases).
• Candidates must be approved by Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
• An Enhanced DBS check and thorough reference checks will be carried out prior to appointment.
