Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment in London is seeking a committed Children's Home Registered Manager to lead a residential home in the Camden area. You will ensure high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children aged 9-17 with complex emotional and behavioural needs, and oversee safeguarding and day-to-day operations.

The role requires strong leadership, staff supervision, risk assessment and effective multi‑agency collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and governance of a children's home.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in managing staff teams and driving improvements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building with multi-agency partners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, safe, and nurturing care for children in the home.
  • Oversee safeguarding and welfare, day-to-day operations, and staff practice.
  • Provide leadership, ensuring child-centred care and best outcomes.
  • Maintain safeguarding systems, safer staffing, risk assessments, and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Ensure understanding and response to each child's vulnerabilities and needs.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, organise shift patterns, deliver training, implement care plans and safeguarding procedures.

Job description

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Children's Home Registered Manager to manage a children's residential home based in the Camden area in London. You will join a provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people

This is a fantastic care provider dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 9-17 who have complex emotional and behavioural needs, providing a safe and supportive environment

As the Manager your key responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people in the home
  • Hold overall accountability for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child, overseeing day-to-day operations, leading staff practice, and driving continuous improvement in line with company standards, ethos and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
  • Provide strong leadership, ensuring care is child-centred and focused on achieving the best outcomes for the child
  • Maintaining robust safeguarding systems, safer staffing arrangements, clear risk assessments, and effective multi-agency working
  • Ensure the child's individual vulnerabilities, behaviours and support needs are understood and responded to consistently
  • Supervise as well as mentor staff, organise work patterns, deliver care-focused training, ensure care plans, safeguarding procedures and support services are implemented effectively
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
  • Strong childcare and safeguarding knowledge, including the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
  • Ability to lead safeguarding practice, manage risk, respond to incidents, and ensure the home meets its duty to protect and promote the welfare of the child at all times
  • Experience of managing staff teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead with confidence, professionalism and resilience
  • A genuine passion for children's homes and a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people

**To be considered for this position you must hold a leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one, together with NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People + 2-3 years of management experience and a strong background in supporting young people**

The successful Manager will receive an excellent salary of £52,000 - £58,600 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 40 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:

  • 32 days of annual leave, including bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year for the first three years

  • Ofsted performance bonus: £3,000 for an Outstanding judgement and £1,500 for a Good judgement
