The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, staff management, and strategic development within the home, supporting the well‑being and outcomes of young residents.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) or equivalent.
• Significant experience in residential care with vulnerable young people.
• Proven leadership and resource management abilities.
• Knowledge of Children Act, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Ofsted standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the residential home to ensure efficient operation in line with legislation and the Statement of Purpose.
• Provide strong leadership and motivate staff to deliver exceptional care.
• Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs with statutory compliance.
• Oversee recruitment, supervision, training and performance appraisals.
• Manage budgets and resources for value for money and efficiency.
• Build relationships with external agencies, families and regulators.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the residential home to ensure efficient operation in line with relevant legislation, policies, and the Statement of Purpose.
• Providing strong leadership and motivating staff to deliver exceptional care and support to children and young people.
• Developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
• Overseeing staff recruitment, supervision, training, and performance appraisals to maintain a high standard of childcare.
• Managing budgets and resources effectively to ensure value for money and operational efficiency.
• Building effective relationships with external agencies, families, and regulatory bodies to support the children’s needs.
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and promoting a safe, inclusive environment for all residents and staff.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) or equivalent.
• Significant experience working in a residential setting with challenging behaviour or vulnerable young people.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams and resources effectively.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Ofsted standards.
• Strong organisational skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to motivate staff.
• Mandatory compliance with safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS check.
